We all long for revival...but where?

Isn't it interesting how many of us have on our hearts the longing for revival. But generally, we think of revival as occuring in our churches and in our towns, our cities or our countries. However, I would like to mention something that I have read lately. We should not just be praying for revival in our churches, etc. but in our own hearts. Once we have revival, then we can pray for our families to have revival, then our friends, then our churches and so on. How can we expect revival when our hearts are not revived?

Here the Scriptures as David speaks the right attitude that we should have:

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you.
(Psa 51:10-13)

Notice what David said, renew me...then I will teach transgressors your ways and sinners will return to you.

Do you know what is interesting? We (I) always focus on others, when it is me who I should look at. One last verse to meditate on:

"Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.
(Mat 7:1-5)

Oh God, may you open my eyes that I might look to myself first before anybody else. Lord Jesus, help me to see you as the all sufficient one. Let me see you as the one who can satisfy me more than my sins. Let me love you and run to you and because of you run from sin.

Revive me oh Lord!
