Revelation 4:10-11
And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying, "Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created."

The imagery of heaven is always imagery of worship. It is always imagery of power, magnificence, beauty, splendor, holiness, goodness, justice and might. This imagery, as John looked up into the heavens, seeing a door, going through, and then beholding the wonder of Jesus Christ in this vision from chapter 4 to chapter 7.

God is the eternal one, He is the one who lives forever and ever. God is seated on the throne. All those surrounding Him bow down before Him, they worship Him. They worship Him for who He is, what He has done. For His goodness and love and power, and the so many more attributes, which cannot be named in any small work.

Any and all majesty and authority that these around the throne may have, they cast it aside as they are before the King of glory, the Lord Jesus Christ. Their crowns are cast at His feet. Then, I can just hear them as they cry to the Lord that: He is worthy. That He is Lord and God. That He will receive glory (His proper weight and fame) and honor (respect and submission) and power (authority to rule and execute judgement).

But then they give a reason why He will receive all of these things. This reason, quite simply is that Jesus Christ created all things. They were created by the Lord Jesus because He wanted to create them. They continue to exist because He wants them to.

Oh, the height, the depth, the length, the breadth of this statement. I am lifted to heaven as I contemplate this. For its implications are deep. All this world, all this universe, all these things were made because God wanted them to be. They continue to be because He so wants them to. So here I sit, being one of these creatures that was created, and I stand amazed. For, the Lord Jesus Christ made me because He wanted me! I am not here because of some time and chance accident. I am not here because of a big impersonal God who just decided to make this glob and I am part of it. No, I exist, this world exists because God so willed it. God so desired to create me! What an amazing thought. However, it goes deeper, because I continue to exist because He wants me to.

Oh, there is no words to say at this point, except to worship the King all glorious above and gratefully sing His power and His love. What a grand and wonderful God I have.

Oh God, King of all things, I am so amazed that you are mindful of me. So, I pray to you with the psalmist in Psalm 8:3-9:

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas. O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

I then exclaim to you, Lord, my Lord, how majestic is your name in all of the earth. Father, whether men submit and lay down before you, they still owe it to you. So I will submit and lay down before you and ascribe to you the honor, glory, power that you have. Thank you Lord for your work in my heart. Continue to change me, continue to make me more conformed into the image of your Son. Help me to be a vessel that glorifies and honors you, almighty God. In Jesus' name, amen.
