Isaiah 43:11
I, I am the LORD, and besides me there is no savior.

My wonderful God, is Lord indeed. He is the great I AM, with no beginning and no end. He is the One who made the heavens and the earth. He is the One who created all things for His own glory. My God, Jehovah, is my strength, my shield, my provider, my rock, my fortress, my strong tower, my salvation. In Him do I trust.

When the world floods over me, when the weight of this life tries to crush me, the profound thought of "I, I am the Lord" calms my fears. Here is the God of heaven and earth, who takes charge of it. He is not an absantee landlord who lets his properties fall apart, who leaves his properties to some tenants and a few workers.

He is the wonderful, counselor, almighty God, everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. In Him is the fullness of perfection and splendor. There is not a thing that is good that is not contained within Him as the author of it.

Then, after the contemplation that God is almighty, powerful, and completely in control, owning the cattle on a thousand hills, and directing, preserving and governing all creatures and their actions, as well as sustaining all of life, the most wonderful thought comes. There is no Savior besides my God.

The reason that this is so comforting is because my God is true. He does not lie, He cannot lie. He promises to be destroyed if He fails but a single word that He has promised. He made an oath against Himself with Abraham, and He has fulfilled every word.

Now, I stand in the promises of God my Savior, knowing that salvation is only in Him. I can stand confident knowing that He will save His people to the uttermost.

So I will trust in Him this morning, and not lean to my own understanding. I will not seek my salvation in work, family, church, skills, talents, money, etc. I will only seek my salvation in my God, the LORD, through Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

My God, please be with me today. Let me be filled with your Holy Spirit, and let me not trust in anything other than you for my salvation. Let me proclaim and give the grace of Jesus Christ to the world, showing them that salvation may only be found in you. In Christ, Amen.
